Since its inception in the 1970s, The dA Center for the Arts – based in downtown Pomona – has believed in the fundamental importance of bringing art classes, exhibitions, and resources to the often underserved greater Pomona area. Now, through their partnership with the Pomona Unified School District, the dA is delighted to expand its mission by providing high quality, artist-taught classes designed specifically for grades 6 to 8 to a number of local schools. They are titled The 6 – 7 – 8 Club.
By enlisting practicing artists to work with PUSD students, the dA seeks to make these classes accessible to the maximum number of interested students, most of whom would receive little to no arts programming without it. Students do not pay for instruction or materials.
